NHS Meeting!

Happy New Year! We hope that everyone had a great break. We will be having a mandatory meeting in Mr. Swanson's room, L115, this Thursday, 1/9/14. Please let us know in advance if you are unable to attend the meeting. See you guys there!

NHS Induction Ceremony!

 This is a friendly reminder that our second annual induction ceremony is tomorrow, 12/10, starting at 6:30 PM in the PAC. We are aiming for the ceremony to be over in about an hour. Please remember that this event is mandatory and it is a semi-formal event. Please message any of the officers if you have any questions. See you and your families tomorrow!

Hello NHS members! There will be a mandatory meeting this Thursday, 12/03, during lunch in Mr. Swanson's room. Please email us at least a day before to let us know if you cannot make it. Only two unexcused absences could lead to your membership being revoked.

Also  if you have not yet paid your dues the last day that you can turn them in is this Friday, 12/04. You will unfortunately not be able to continue your membership as part of NHS if you do not do so. If you have any financial difficulties or cannot pay by this Friday please email us beforehand so we can get everything settled for you.

2013-2014 Application

The application will be due on September 13, 2013 in Mr. Swanson's classroom.

Election Day Today!

San Diego River Garden

Thank you to all the members that came to the last two events! It was a huge success! We'll try to plan more events with this organization since many of you guys enjoyed it.

Induction Ceremony

The Induction Ceremony for new members of Del Norte's NHS is on December 12, 2012. Please join us for this special event. We hope to see you there!

Our First Volunteer Opportunities: "Sunny and Angel Save Christmas" at the Helen Woodward Animal Center

Join other NHS members and volunteer with us for a special opportunity to help kids, help animals and celebrate the holidays!! We'll be volunteering at the Helen Woodward Animal Center helping the kids at a holiday fundraising "party." We'll be assisting with crafts, pictures with Santa, reading stories to kids, registration and even assistance in the "barn," letting kids come in and visit with the animals.

We will be going to the events on the 9th and the 16th. You may volunteer at both events if you would like.

Remember: To keep your eligibility in NHS, you must complete the required 10 hours of service through NHS as well as 15 independent service hours, so take advantage of this special and convenient holiday event!!

You must fill out the registration form and fax or scan/email it in directly to the animal center. You must also email us when you receive a confirmation email from the Mrs. Laurie Doyle, the supervisor of this event.

Letterman Patches

Last call for Letterman Patches! If you would like an NHS letterman patch, let us know via email. We are placing our orders soon. If you do not let us know that you want a letterman patch, you will receive a regular NHS patch.

Event Coordinator Applications Now Open

We are offering THREE Event Coordinator positions this year. Event Coordinators will scout for volunteer opportunities for NHS and help plan future events. We are looking for responsible and dependable individuals with great communication skills and creativity.

Applications are under the “Forms” tab. Turn in your application to Mr. Swanson no later than our next meeting, November 8th.
